General ABA (Not Autism Specific)

Cooper, J. O., Heron, T. & Heward, W. (1989). Applied behavior analysis. Columbus, OH: Merrill.   Summary: Though none of these books are designed to address autism or autism treatment specifically, the principles and techniques outlined in these books are the tools used to design ABA based interventions for children with autism.

Malott, R.W. & Trojan Suarez, E.A. (2004). Principles of behavior: Fifth Edition.  Upper Saddle River, New Jersey: Pearson Prentice Hall.  Summary: Very reader friendly and thorough introduction to the principles of behavior analysis.

Michael, Jack (1994). Concepts and principles of behavior analysis. Society for the Advancement of Behavior Analysis, Kalamazoo, MI.   Summary: If you are new to the field, you will likely find this text somewhat dense, however it is an extremely concise and thorough text.

ABA & Autism: Strategies & Curriculum

It is not recommended that parents implement treatment for their child without the help of a trained consultant and staff, however these books are good outlines of curricula.
