Job Description

·        Work 1:1 with children in the home, school, and community

·        Follow a structured curriculum to teach language, play, social, motor, and self-help skills to children with autism under the supervision of Board Certified Behavior Analysts

·        Participate in a thorough initial training program with instruction in autism, Applied Behavior Analysis, teaching strategies, behavior management, data collection, and ethics 

·        Participate in ongoing trainings and attend regularly scheduled team meetings for each client

·        Work collaboratively and effectively communicate with colleagues, parents, and school personnel

Job Requirements

·        At least 2 years of undergraduate education with a major such as Psychology, Child Development, Education, or a related field

·        Some experience working with typically developing children or children with special needs desirable

·        Reliable transportation and valid auto insurance

·        Department of Justice clearance

·        TB test

Additional Information

·        We provide 30-40 hours of paid training before Skills Trainers begin working on their own with clients.  To ensure that all Skills Trainers meet our high performance standards, trainees pass a written examination and practical evaluation prior to working with clients on their own.

·        We provide regularly scheduled trainings and workshops throughout employment at ABI.

·        We serve children as far west as Agoura Hills, as far north as Valencia, as far south as the 10 freeway, and as far east as San Gabriel.  As such, skills trainers are compensated for travel time and mileage.

·       Typically, each full-time skills trainer works with 3-4 different children. Schedules change frequently to meet the needs of our clients; however, we also offer flexible hours to meet the needs of our employees.
